Inspired by the works of Thoreau, David Higdon of Book Fair Supply has designed this first addition to our artist series lapel pins.
Henry David Thoreau—American author, naturalist, and transcendentalist wrote in Walden:
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." Thoreau also uses the snake as a metaphor for modern man in the essay Economy to represent man's state of being — apathetic and unaware of the inspiration found in Nature. David has paired the two purposefully to remind you to "Live Deliberately" each and every day.
